1. Back in the mists of time I said something about not wanting to gain as much weight with this pregnancy as I did with the FB - 6 stone it was, which is, according to Google, 38kg. Ladies, and Gent (drum roll please) I have, with just over 7 weeks to go, only gained 3 stone (19kg) making me lighter than I was at this time the last time. And yet my clothing size says the opposite. Why?
2. The cats are being ultra-nice to me since I threatened to send them sea-mail to Australia. The main culprit is sitting to my right purring like mad and making "oh so cute" eyes at me. I am not fooled.
3. The FB is finally getting over his cold, which is good as we were drowning in a sea of white and green tissues. He has also learnt to share, not so good.
4. Back to square one on the whole pushchair front. Original plan was to get a Bugaboo Chameleon but we are saving up for MrV to go freelance so.....any suggestions? I'd like it to have a carrycot, extendable handles and a shopping bag thingy slung underneath.
5. Am very aware that I've been tagged for this real woman/mother meme thingy and it is sort of under construction. The problem is that my brain has eroded and is spewing forth a bunch of rubbish. When I have it back under control (some time in the next decade) I may be able to make a little more sense of my rambling. And possibly learn to spell.
6. The much awaited decluttering failed to happen this weekend. Am starting to wonder if I can do it myself. This however involves climbing onto a chair and I'm not sure the wardrobe is strong enough to be used as a pulley system. We shall experiment tomorrow. If I don't post for while it is because the whole thing has collapsed on me and I am buried under a pile of Ladybird books from the 70s. Please send a search and rescue team with lots of chocolate.
7. Doc has referred me to physio for hip/pelvic/leg pain. Hurrah!

Well done on keeping the weight gain down. I vowed I wasn't going to put on as much the second time around and ended up going 2kgs heavier than the first time!
Oh the oh so cute eyes! Sweet when they try to pull them NEXT to the fur ball on the new sofa, isn't it??
Glad you're well.
RE the clothing. This is because your first pregnancy WRECKED all the muuscles in your abdomen. It's so unfair what pregnancy does to you.
Also, don't taunt me with the too-cute-eyes if you're not sending them to me anymore. Hmmph.
Erk prams, feels like I'm doing a PhD thesis on them at the moment. The one we're probably going for (as recommended by the nice ladies in John Lewis - thanks for the tip going there!) is the Silver Cross 3D. It doesn't have a removal carrycot as such but a comfy-looking washable soft insert kind of like a carrycot for £279. It has adjustable handles. Variation on same theme is Cosatto Converto from Babies R Us which includes car seat for same price.
You are right not to be fooled - cats are scheming little tykes. They are planning revenge!
Thanks for your Dad-thoughts. Much appreciated.
I do remember oh so well the trials of pregnancy. Round ligament pain and backache, particularly. Sympathy. It will come to an end (though then you'll get no sleep and so on. But at least you won't be pregnant).
Hopefully you'll find some relief from the pain -- and only 50 days to go I see! The end, or the beginning rather, is nigh. And, yes, pregnancy does forever wreck the abdominal muscles. I'm still unsure what to do with the roll of extra tummy flesh my two left me with -- I now understand why someone would want a tummy tuck.
fairlie
suspect the not-so-drastic weight gain due to the 2hour walk every morning taking the FB to nursery then back home (and going to pick him up again) as well as not so much water retention this time. The last time I swelled up like a puffer fish.
Jess or rather, especially in the case of Frog, when she has just vomited all over the brand new couch.
Must take a photo of my two feline terrorists.
Stompergirl, the first pregnancy wrecked my abdominal skin leaving a lovely roll around my waist. Fabulous!
You're welcome MrsT. I looked at the 3D pushchair but wasn't sure about the handlebars. How small did it fold up and was it easy to do?
Currently on the possibility list is a Jane pushchair, the Bugaboo Gecko, and an M&P Ultima one. There was another Silvercross I considered but it was huge and a nightmare to collapse.
You're right though, the amount of research you need to do for a PhD is paltry compared to that needed to choose the perfect pushchair. And then the search for just the right changing bag begins....
You're welcome Isabelle and again am thinking of you and your family.
Liz, I have a standing agreement with MrV that once I have finished having babies I can have a tummy tuck. I loathe that roll of fat!
Have five and watch the pounds,or kilos, melt away! Running in five different directions 24/7 guarantees slenderness! On your marks, get set, GO!
Eek, Molly, even for the sake of a slim body, I dont think I could have managed 5!
I am glad you are to get something done about your pain in the ligament area.Good Luck!
Velcro the 3D collapses like a Mclaren type pushchair, a bit like an umbrella. I like the way it unfolds - just a big dramatic flick with the handlebars!
Have you thought of getting a second hand Bugaboo? I keep looking in the FARA Kids charity shop down Garratt Lane in Earlsfield on the off-chance someone's donated one, hey we can dream...
I could send you my old pram as it is just sitting in the garage just waiting for me to wash and sell it - the postage may defeat the purpose though ;-)
I had to wear a stretchy back brace thingy after the birth of #2 as I had absolutely NO stomach muscles left and my top half kept wanting to collapse onto my bottom half!
You are almost there.
I am already salivating at the thought of baby pics!
Well that is if you post baby pics.
I don't think I've ever seen you post pics.
But you will tell us a good labor story, right?
5 Molly? I think I might stick to 3 max. Mind you I watched a programme about a family in the US with 16 kids!
MrsT I got the silvercross catalog this morning and i do have to say that the 3D does look rather lovely. Especially like the way that you can clamp the baby into the pram which makes those pesky tube escalators a little less scary.
Nutmeg see now I have an image of you as an accordian-human hybrid. Thankyou though for the lovely offer of the pram but yes I think the cost of the postage may be a little prohibitive.
Caro I may put a photo of the peanut up when he makes an appearance.
