My attempts at crocheting are not going well. I can do the starting stitch and the first row of stitches and but when I try anything beyond that my work starts to look less and less like crochet and more like macrame. Which would be great if I was planning on making hanging pot holders for a dolls house but not if I fancy making a ripple blanket.
The photo above is the completed section of the cross stitch that rules my life. I've almost done 10% now! This is the original photo it was taken from.

Oh my goodness, you clever thing you!
That is lovely x stitch!
I wish I lived close, I could help with the crochet!
Wow, I'm so impressed!
How on earth do you do that - and with a baby???
That is so amazing, you're really talented!
That's gorgeous.
Mama mia!! No wonder it rules your life!! When you've talked about it in the past I had visions of those nasty ubiquitous scenes that always have me wondering how anyone could devote so much of their life to something so ugly (my grandmother's needlepointed "Last Supper" being a perfect example). I am sorry. Sorry and humbled. It's beautiful, Velcro, and completely worthy.
I had to zoom the picture up super-huge before I believed that it was truly cross-stitched. AMAZING!
Wow. That cross stitch is amazing.
That is a gorgeous piece of work. My only other experience of cross-stitch are the naff "home-sweet-home / pathetic puppydog" types favoured by my MIL. So I am doubly impressed too!
You must be very patient, that's marvellous.
