Am I being unreasonable?

There is, within a website called Mumsnet, a section where worldweary mamas can ask if whatever bugbear currently afflicting them is acceptable or if they are being unreasonable. I mean one day to go onto it, but fear that my grumpiness and irrationality would prove too much and crash the website. So instead, dear reader, I shall grump here.

Am I being unreasonable to

1. Expect the postman to deliver MY parcels to me and NOT to my neighbour? Have spotted him wandering away from my frontdoor with a parcel only to have my neighbour bring it round to me later. And while we are on the subject of snail mail, when did first class post start taking 10 days to arrive from Reading (largish town not really that far from London?)

2. Expect the damn moths to bugger off? Have successfully vanquished the little horrors from one cupboard only for them to have moved into the one beside it and I can't find where their pupae are..

3. be a little narked when, after a day of eating a diet that a supermodel would class as austere, I stand on the scales and find I've actually gained weight.

4. to feel a little foolish that I've started a post about being grumpy about so many things and can't actually remember most of what I was grumpy about.

Right I am off to ice a chocolate cake.

The chocolate cake will fix the grumpiness. It works for me!

You can ice it if you want, but I'd just eat some. I think it's one of those days today. Sod the diet.

Is ICE code for EAT?
Count me in :)

Mumsnet makes me grumpy with all those stupid abbreviations like DD, DS, SOB (ok I made the last one up). I find it SO FECKING IRRITATING, or is it just me being irrational? I agree with the other commenters, chocolate cake is the antidote to grumpiness. Save us some.

I'm with Ali. Why waste time icing it? Just eat the bloody thing, THEN make the icing and eat that too, straight out of the bowl.

You are entitled.

Wait a minute. How can chocolate cake and austere diet co-exist in the same post? Do we need to define austere? No! No! Don't THROW the cake......

Warm the choc cake in the microwave.
Add icecream. Sit, eat, enjoy.

1.Your postman should be sacked.
2.I totally sympathise about the moths because a) I fought your fight a couple of years ago and they suck and they are very bloody persistent and b) because I feel the same way about my son's head lice, will the vermin never be gone??????
3. You need to sack your scales too. Clearly they lie.
4.What was I saying?

I don't think you're at all unreasonable, and if it were me, I'd eat the cake! Diets are overrated.

Having read all your comments there could be only one thing I could do..

I ate the cake, ok not all of it. MrV had some, so did the FB and there is still some left in the kitchen. And it tasted good.

(I always ice cakes because really, the icing is my favourite bit)

Stomper I'm sorry to hear about the nits. Am dreading the time the FB comes home with them and already my head itches in sympathy.
