A pox

Round two of chicken pox at present. The Count had it 2 weeks ago which was fun, and now the FB has it. Fortunately my sister has a spare freeview box which she has very kindly lent us so the FB can watch Cbeebies to his heart's content. He's discovering that chickenpox is not the fun, tv watching, chocolate eating heaven he thought it would be. Oh well, it doesn't last. Unfortunately tomorrow is his class' outing to the Botanics for a Teddy Bear's picnic and he can't go. I think we'll have a little picnic at home tomorrow for lunch, just me, his daddy, the Count and any teddies that fancy attending.

Oh poor little fellows. Hope they're not scratching themselves to bits and that they feel better soon.

thanks Stomper. The Count is over it and no longer itchy (until nappy changing time then he lies on the floor and wriggles like a manic snake) but the FB is really suffering. He's been so brave and not scratched at all

Poor loves, not fun at all when you're little. I had chickenpox when I was 22 and felt utterly revolting for about 6 weeks, so at least the Count won't remember it. I admire FB's bravery, even when I was 22 I couldn't stop myself scratching.

6 weeks ekk! That must have been awful. The Count had the really bad itchy bit for 5 days, and the FB is on day 3

Oh that's miserable, poor boys. I came down with the pox two days before I was due to move house (age 30). Don't remember the itching much, but I felt rubbish for weeks after and just lay on the sofa when I should have been unpacking boxes. I don;t think I watched Cbeebies though.

I hope you got someone to do all the moving for you Angelfeet! Itching is definately a problem here. It's 10pm, the FB is still up complaining he can't sleep because of the itching and it looks like it will be another very long night with very little sleep.

There seems to be an equal pox on my eldest girl's class at the moment with 3 kids down with it at the moment too. Sorry to read that both yours had/still have it :-( Very trying times indeed.

Oh poor kids. Poor you.

I came out in chicken pox the day after my youngest daughter was born and I felt terrible...not to mention itchy as anything. The worst part was that my newborn then also got it at 12 days old - which was an extremely worrying experience. We both recovered okay though.

It's so hard not to scratch...FB must be an absolute trooper.

I hope yours manage to stay clear of it Samantha. The FB had perfect timing, I handed in a cheque on Friday to pay for a school outing (today) and within a few days out popped all the spots.

Oh boy that would have been awful Fairlie. Isn't it supposed to be dangerous for a newborn to catch it? Am so glad to hear that she was ok.
