We now return to our usual schedule

Well the parents left this morning after a very busy but good weekend.

On Friday we went for a ride on this and remarkably we got good weather for it too. I thought it would at the very least pour with rain with possibly a hurricane chucked in for good measure but as you can see blue skies! It does get buffeted about in the wind when you're at the top which is a little nerve racking, especially if, like me, you don't like heights but the view is worth it....

(It's the London Eye)

And on Sunday we took the FB to the Imperial War Museum to see the "Family Tank" it was ridden in by a member of the family, has his photo and nickname on the front) - it was very tempting to see if it could be liberated from its current home and brought back to mine; I'd rather like to see the traffic wardens try to clamp or remove a tank for parking without a ticket! But he was more interested in the submarines and aeroplanes than a tank from the 40s.

Oh, did we pass the white glove test? Well as the FB was taken out ALL DAY on Saturday by his grandparents AND they babysat for us that evening I guess the flat must have been slightly cleaner than its usual shambolic mess.

Did you get to go in the red one? I noticed that they've all got big red dots on them for Red Nose Day.

Excellent that you got a night's free babysitting!

Galad to read the visit went off so well!
I always loved having my Mum to stay when the kids were little. But I dreaded the uninvited Saturday visits from the MIL with another her Granddaughter, who had cerebral palsy. The child was lovely, the MIL a bloody nightmare!

I don't know if you can go in the red one, it looked pretty sealed off

It was fantastic to go out for a meal without the FB. As incredibly well behaved in restaurants as he is, it was still good to be able to have grownup time.

I'm very lucky. My MIL is really lovely

Grown up time - how lovely! You deserve it. I haven't been on the Eye yet - what did the FB think of it?

He was pretty scared for some of it and has since decided that he doesn't like being high up. A small packet of chocolate buttons took his mind off the height and he was ok after a while, though incredibly chocolatey.

The view from the London Eye is speck-tack-lee-ah! And you are all very brave for going up that high.

Yay for going out with MrV. I hope you get a few more of those before the new baby arrives!

Yay, I am glad your visit was so good!

The photos of the view makes my heart hurt, it has been my lifelong dream to visit London. England, Scotland, Ireland, Europe. Sigh. One day.

As for bringing the tank home, what makes you think that either your landlord won't take it like the roof tiles, or your downstairs neighbours won't retaliate by painting their house number on it? :)

Free babysitting - woo hoo!!

I don't think I'd like the eye - it'd freak me out!

PS. thanks so much for your kind words - i'm very grateful for your advice. here's hoping the behaviour isn't permanent!

That Aunty is a card. And blogger refuses to let me comment anymore on her blog...what gives with that? great pics! makes me want to be in England "now that Spring, or is it April's here?"

awww, molly, I didn't know!

Have you upgraded to the new blogger? Maybe that's the problem?

I do miss you!!

er hmm, 'scuse us for a minute Velcro will ya please? :)

I suspect Aunty that the authorities may have something to say about a whopping great Grant tank being parked in a residential area but it would give those smug S.O.Bs in their 4x4s something to think about!

Mad Muthas I heard you on the radio today! We have managed to avoid the whole birthday party fiasco by simply not giving the FB a party so far....

I was ok on the way back down (on the London Eye) but not happy at the top when it was being knocked about by the wind.
