The Great Womble Hunt

To make up for the wet summer we had, we've been blessed with the most beautiful autumn. It's still warm enough to go out in sandals, and if you are the FB, without a coat. Mind you he refuses to wear one in the dead of winter, must be his hardy Scottish blood. Because it was such a glorious day today MrV decided not to do any work but instead take us all on a stomp across Wimbledon Common in search of Wombles.

We hunted and we hunted, but no Wombles could we find. Instead this tree caught MrV's eye. I'm going through a bit of a tree thing so I had to get a photo of it. But still we kept on looking for any sign of the elusive womble...

Eventually we reached the Wimbledon Common windmill and gave up hunting. Unfortunately the museum below the windmill was shut for winter and doesn't open again until the end of March which left a certain young man feeling very sorry for himself.

No, not this one. He's looking a bit astonished because today his menu had a new item on it - the vile gunkness that is babyrice. My baby is growing up!

Glad you enjoyed your wombling, I love Wimbledon.

The Count looks so cute with the baby rice make up! I'm having to face the dreaded weaning fairly soon - LMT is starting to guzzle everything put in front of her. Time to buy Annabel Karmel books...

Oh my goodness you are right about that! Both your babies are growing up!

When I saw the photo of FB, I thought, "oh look how tall he is getting!".

But look at the count! He's a real boy now!

And gorgeous...

I know MrsT, I have to get my Annabel Karmel book out and I loathe her. Was greatly cheered up though by an article in the Guardian that said that her son Nicolas has no idea how to cook.

Why thankyou Aunty! I think he's gorgeous too, and the FB is now tall enough to be able to post letters in the letterbox all by himself. When did he get big enough to do that?

Baby rice - time HAS flown! You see, when they are as cute as the count it's hard to get angry at them for waking you up - I'm NOT saying impossible mind you ;-)

Your children are so gorgeous! I can hardly believe the Count is up to babyrice already!!

My children just loved the Wombles of Wimbledon Common, & of course they had to have soft toy versions. To be honest, I really liked them myself!

Babyrice already! Hasn't time flown? He's very cute with a face-full of it. I've always thought babyrice smells and looks like the most unappetising food ever. Strangely enough babies seem to like the stuff.

Growing up, I loved The Wombles on TV.

Underground, overground wombling free - you've got me singing. And I just love the looks that that first food experience gets.

Break out the ice trays!

Making good use of the things that we find the things that the everyday folk leave behind. (I'm doing a duet with Ali)

Your babies are adorable, and babyrice is foul and loathesome and I am never surprised when they spit it back out.

Thankyou for the computer advice from your Mr. V. He was closest to the mark, I've got the network via ethernet cable organised but want the new computer to 'allot' the incoming files to their proper places. I'll be giving it another shot when I summon up more energy!

Also, can you email me when you have time about what happened in the first New Tricks (new series) about Jack running down his wife's killer? Please? Because I missed that and I need to know... And maybe you know something about the whole David Tennant leaving Doctor Who thing? Sounds like terrible news to me.

Wombles are very good at hiding... although I do know someone who claims they've seen one!

Weaning is interesting times. I tried everything I fed my little girl, and I rejected baby rice before she did!

While I'm glad that my boys are healthy and growing I am always dismayed by the rate at which they change! Looks like your two are right on pace. Babyrice??? Already??? Isn't he just a few days old?
