30 November 2006

It's the 30th! It is isn't it?

Somewhere near the beginning of the month I confessed that I had spent the whole day in my PJs. I need to do that again except this time I have a very legitimate reason. I have a cold, a horrible, I'm going to die kind of cold. The sort of cold that makes you google to find out where all that gunk comes from and how it reproduces so quickly. And be in no doubt, I do not do colds well. I'm not that sort of person who soldiers on regardless and uncomplaining. I'm the one lying on the couch complaining that the tissues hurt my nose and why doesn't anyone feel sorry for me! But we have to think positively don't we! Well today my sewing machine arrived. MrV who is the very personification of generosity bought it for me, and what I've seen of it looks lovely. I'm going to have to buy some material just so I can try it out. And today ladies and gent marks the end of the NovBloMo or NovMoBlo I'm not sure which way round it goes or indeed if that's its name. It has been an interesting experience, I don't think my writing flowed any more towards the end of the month than it did at the beginning, and it was hard going sometimes, but I've enjoyed writing it and getting your comments. And on that note I'm signing off for now. See you next week. Have a good weekend.

thankyou. i hope it will too. colds sap my already limited willpower to get stuff done, and that stuff is piling up.

Sorry to hear about the cold Velcro, hopefully it will clear up quickly. I am a bit of a sook when I get sick too, I have to admit.

Well done on completing that NoPlo thingy!

Hi, Have just read your blog from the beginning and greatly enjoyed it. So glad for you about the good news about the Peanut.

Would you be interested to know (Balamory reference coming up) that my second daughter's aspiring-actor boyfriend is a good friend of Archie? Nearest thing I can do to name-dropping.

How sad that (as you say on Molly's blog) you have such bad memories of Scotland. It's a fine place really.

Hope the cold improves fast.

As bad as you are at having a cold, is as bad a nurse as I am. I HATE being with sick people, so be happy I'm not there, poking you as you lie on the sofa and glaring at you every time you blow your snotty, nasty nose.
Get better. We'll both be happier;-)

A cold when you're pregnant is the worse sort. :(

Yeh-huh, the sprog in your womb has hijacked your immune system! You need the aloe vera tissues to protect your nose and before you go to sleep at night smear nose liberally with Savlon/Bepanthen type cream. Lanolin based baby ointment, anyway. It's like a magical overnight repair job.

Wow Archie is my favourite character on Balamory! I agree Scotland is a fine place it's just unfortunately linked with being parted from my parents at age 10. I would still love to live in Edinburgh again (I hope the high winds have calmed down now).

Kirsty I make a bad nurse too. I expect people to stop moaning and just get on with life. Of course when I'm ill I want the 5 star treatment!

Thank you Carolyn and Aunty I'm actually a lot better already today. Alas now the FB and MrV have come down with it.

Stompergirl thank you so much for those very helpful suggestions. Will get the tissues and cream when the FB and I go out later

Glad you're on the mend....it's so nice to have the day off , isn't it? Even though it was self imposed pressure..

Sorry to hear about your sickness. Like Bec said, they are just soooo much worse when your pregnant and you can't take much for it.

I remember having some vile chest infection with pregnancy #2 and actually fell asleep, after much coughing, sitting up with a cough lozenge still ON MY TONGUE. And this after telling my husband to NEVER fall asleep while eating a lozenge only a couple of weeks previous. See, all these rules apply to EVERYONE else :-)
